The John Wayne Birthplace Museum Grand Opening

John Wayne made many films (at least 13) in the Lone Pine area and on this web site we will celebrate his contribution to filmmaking history. Some of his Lone Pine films are “3 Godfathers” (1948), “I Cover the War” (1937), “Westward Ho” (1935), “North to Alaska” (1960) and “Tycoon” (1947).

Scott Eyman, author of the wonderful “John Wayne: The Life and Legend” (Simon & Schuster) – the best biography on Wayne – delivered the Grand Opening Keynote Address for the John Wayne Birthplace Museum in Winterset, Iowa on 23 May, 2015.
