Maverick Queens - The Fabulous Women of Lone Pine

This presentation will bring into focus the very important position that the women filmmakers of Lone Pine played in the many films made in the Lone Pine area over the past one hundred years. The women filmmakers were not just decorative but were in many ways powerful role models and added much value to the films they made. It wasn’t just the men who put Lone Pine on the map. It has been stated that behind every successful man there is a stronger and more empathetic woman. We hope to see you brim full of bonhomie as we visit you all the way across the Pacific from the “little” frontier western town of Melbourne, Australia.
